I was so taken aback that I didn\u2019t stick around to investigate, I assumed that it was thrown by someone who wasn\u2019t mentally sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following day I was on main street and 9<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, it was quite crowded, I admit, but there was someone walking suspiciously close to me. In the nick of time, I caught them trying to pick-pocket and I screamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Near misses all around me, accidents unknown,<br>Though I never see with human eyes the hands that lead me home.<\/p>\n<cite>Amy Grant, Angels Watching Over Me<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>I told a number of people about what happened, \u201cGirl you are living a movie\u201d was more or less the response I got from most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cThe Lord is good; I have had two near misses.\u201d I praised God and I recalled Psalm 124<em> \u201cBlessed be the Lord who has not given us over as prey to their teeth, we have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowler, the snare is broken and we have escaped.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/YnBntKOgnUSBkV7bQH\" width=\"480\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"giphy-embed\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/Friends-season-5-episode-111-the-one-where-everybody-finds-out-YnBntKOgnUSBkV7bQH\">via GIPHY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n<p>As time went by, I continued to give thanks but I became aware of how perilous it is to base God\u2019s goodness on whether we receive good outcomes or not. God still would have been good even if something untoward had happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We live in a fallen world so we are bound to have bad days, or go through an entire season that\u2019s painful but God is still worthy of the praise. <em>\u201cI will bless the Lord <strong>at all times<\/strong> and His praise will forever be on my lips.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 34:1)&nbsp;It is much easier said than done, I look at Job when he was told tragedy after tragedy, he still blessed the Lord. (Job 1:21) It is convenient to have things go our way, but even if they don\u2019t we shouldn\u2019t throw our toys out of the pram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Theophilus Sunday has a song called \u201cNo Glory in this World\u201d, and he says \u201cI know that you can save, I have seen you save before, but if you choose not to save, you are worth dying for.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hebrews 11 is the chapter of faith, the author talks of the patriarchs and the heroines of faith and highlights all that was gained and accomplished because of faith, lovely stuff!
