God’s ability vs our capacity

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21 New King James Version (NKJV)
This message has been on my heart for a while now, God is not limited by anything, isn’t that amazing! When we are in need we don’t have to worry about who He will borrow from, He is the ultimate provider and creator of all things. Nothing is too much for Him, He does not grow weary either, He works full time.
Can have access to all of that we desire by just asking? Surely-
However, there are times when we do not get what we want and there are many variables at play when that happens, after all, His ways are not our ways.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
Isaiah 55:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
He sees the bigger picture because, well, He made the bigger picture. He’s the CREATOR after all.
One of the several reasons why we don’t get exactly what we want from God is: He assess our capacity to receive them. I like to think of it like going to a boutique and you pick out a shirt or a pair of shoes and unlike any other boutique it’s not just a matter of paying the price and getting whatever you want – here the shopkeeper has to approve of something before it is yours.
There is Zothile reaching for a size 7 shoe, “I would like this one please.”
The shopkeeper knows I am a size 5 and to save me from looking like a clown with oversize shoes I will be denied the shoe until the shipment of size 5s comes by.
Or maybe you are requesting something that is too small for you, you are destined for greater things but you have set your sights on a size 28 shirt when the perfect fit for you is a size 34.
He looks at our capacity before He sends things our way.
There could be someone praying for a car, a house, a permit, an entrepreneurship to work out… that is good – ask and you shall receive, but God looks at our capacity – our level of maturity, how much time we will give Him afterward.
If He sees that the person will prioritize the car or house above Him once they get it there is a chance they will not get it because their capacity doesn’t allow them to have God in their life once they get the desired thing.
He is a jealous God.
Then there is another instance where capacity comes into play… some people (like me!) really want an intimate relationship with God. I am in awe when people testify and say “He spoke to me, He showed me this”
Some of us are not at that level not because God is not able to speak to everyone of earth, but because we do not have the capacity to hear Him speak. Let me illustrate this further, how can God manifest Himself in someone’s life when that person has given Him a 2 minute allowance in the morning and just before they go to sleep at night and their knowledge of His word is on the fritz.
The ratio…the capacity does not allow.
Anyway,
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33 New International Version (NIV)
When you are not all over the place with your mind fixed on material things it is so easy for God to bless you because He can see that whatever comes your way cannot replace Him.
Happy Sunday!

Thank you so much for this!❤️Oh how we blessed we are to have a God who waits until we’re ready to receive it. The image of you in the size 7 clown shoes got to me?that’s how we be like really! God knows we aren’t ready and while we wait we should work on what we can work on and TRUST that he is with us still. Easier said than done, but I’m sure God recognizes effort and meets us where we are. Stay blessed.❤️✨
